I wish I knew an easy way to cut butterflies by hand, but for me using a hand saw to cut the metal is the only way to go. Although, it is not an easy job the end result is simply incredible and worth the time.
Each plant stick I make usually takes up to 2 1/2 hours to complete, there is torch time, sawing time, and filing time and of course the best part of the process is using the electrical wire that I pick up from our local scrap yard for the end result...It really is amazing what one can create using recycled items.
I am happy to say that the butterflies in the photo are going to a local Arboretum & Botanic Gardens and are being placed in their store for sell. I will post more on this at a later time.
